Search the MLS like a pro with Listingbook
Many people ask us how they can log into the “Realtor Database”, as if we have a secret magic computer program they are not allowed to see.
Here in the Tampa Bay area consumers can use the same database Realtors use, they just have to have a Realtor “sponsor” them when they sign up for the free service. By “sponsor”, they mean you are given an account by a Realtor and any time you are on the account, you will see that Realtor’s contact info. It does not mean you have “signed up” to use that Realtor for buying or selling a house (although trust me, I hope you do use me ), it just means they are the sponsor of your account.
The database is called Listingbook and it contains the same info we have, just with a consumer-friendly interface. You can go into the system and put in your search parameters. Once they are in, Listingbook will send you an email with the houses that fit your criteria whenever they come on the market. It will also send an email when there are price changes, open houses, etc. You don’t receive emails all the time, you decide when you want to get them. Most people receive them every morning.
